This opening hole requires a long straight drive down the left side of the narrow fairway to set up a mid-iron second shot to an elevated green. It is critical to give enough club to reach the large green which slopes severely from back to front. The bunker at the back of the green seldom come into play while that at the front stops any ball trundling down towards the heavy rough.

HOLE 2 PAR 4 282M

 

This dramatic signature hole offers a few interesting options from the tee. The cautious approach would be to land the ball with a mid iron onto the plateau and then take on the elevated green from there. The average player can drive the ball down the valley to the bank of the hill and follow it with a short, almost vertical chip to the green. Gutsy long hitters can try and go for the flag. Warning: the green is treacherously fast and slopes steeply back towards the valley.

HOLE 3 PAR 3 167M

 

The breath-taking view from the tee perched atop a hill is enough to distract the challenge ahead on this dramatic hole. From the elevation, the large green below, guarded by 3 bunkers, can be easily reached with a short to mid iron. An easy par hole if not for the scenic distraction.

HOLE 4 PAR 5 586M

 

A good drive avoiding a rocky depression on the right and a solid second shot will set up a simple chip to the generous green for a birdie try. The trees flanking both sides of this hole put a premium to accuracy. The water tower in the distance gives a general target for the second and third shots.

HOLE 5 PAR 4 356M

 

A straight drive is necessary to avoid the large outcrop on the right to set up a mid iron approach to the 3-tier green. The deep green is very elevated, making it crucial to use enough club for the approach. There is a greenside bunker on the right but it is the size and speed of the green that golfers should pay attention to.

HOLE 6 PAR 3 123M

 

A deceptively simple par 3 hole. The extremely large green makes it an easy target but once on the green, the putt must consider the considerable right to left breaks. Six pot bunkers, three in front and three at the back, trap those with erring drives.

HOLE 7 PAR 4 425M   A huge mound on the left and a hidden fairway bunker on the right demands that the drive be straight and long to land the ball just before it reaches the downslope of the wide fairway. The slightly elevated green is set back to the left with bunkers sprinkled on both sides.

HOLE 8 PAR 4 363M

 

A huge mound on the left and trees on the right give a narrow view to the wide fairway beyond. After a good drive with a little fade, the extremely wide green can be seen with 7 bunkers clustered together on the right. The green slopes from back to front and care should be exercised to land the ball below the cup.

HOLE 9 PAR 5 485M

 

A long drive, avoiding the trees on both sides, will take advantage of the downslope and send the ball further towards its destination. The elevated green will make it difficult even for the long hitters to reach in two but the regulation 3 strokes will be a simple affair for many. The green is large and deep with bunkers on both sides.

HOLE 10 PAR 4 360M

 

The tee shot for this short dogleg-left hole requires a draw to avoid the trees on the left and a raised mound on the right. After that, a short iron is all it takes to take the flag on. The green is large and relatively even - a birdie possibility.

HOLE 11 PAR 4 360M

 

The view from the tee paints a daunting picture with trees on the right and a sloping fairway that disappears sharply in the horizon. A long drive is necessary to afford a good second shot down to a large green fronted by a strip of water. Short hitters will have to lay up at the lower section of the fairway before attempting to try for the green.

HOLE 12 PAR 5 485M

 

A daunting driving hole - but looks can be misleading. An average carry beyond 150 metres will land the ball squarely in the middle of the flat fairway. After which, two simple shots are all that is required to make the green for that birdie attempt. A good scoring hole, if you stay dry.

HOLE 13 PAR 3 178M

 

The expanse of water to cross plus two long sand strips fronting the green make this an extremely challenging par 3 hole. Although the undulating green is large, precise club selection is vital to land safely onto the putting surface. There is also a selection of tee positions to add the challenge.

HOLE 14 PAR 4 313M

 

Trees on both sides plus a rocky mound on the left demand an unerring straight drive to find the heart of the wide fairway on this dogleg left hole. Get enough club to carry the two bunkers at the neck of the huge green and a birdie chance awaits.

HOLE 15 PAR 5 524M

 

The only demand this long dogleg left hole makes is that the tee shot be long and true. The trees lining the left side of the fairway will punish those who attempt any short cuts. After a good drive, two straightforward shots will land the ball safely onto the huge green with gentle borrows.

HOLE 16 PAR 3 194M

 

Length is pivotal to reach the large, deep green on this long par 3 hole. Otherwise, it is a simple task to make par. Teeing from the substitute island tee, however, presents an entirely different problem. From there, the green is blind and the water-carry can be intimidating for many.

HOLE 17 PAR 4 351M

 

Getting the ball close to the pin or even onto the putting surface itself with the second shot is a tall order on this relatively simple and short par 4 hole. The green sits on a steep rise and is long and deep, making it difficult to judge distance when viewed from the fairway. A par is a good score here.

HOLE 18 PAR 4 351M

 

A long drive down the slightly undulating fairway will be rewarded with a simple short iron to the elevated 2-tiered green. However, the mound on the left may cause some pushed shots into the fairway bunker. The green has very sharp borrows and is effectively protected by bunkers on all sides.
